Cable fixtures are classified according to installation method, fixture scheme and material. Its core purpose is to organize and protect cables from debris or external forces. Common types and application scenarios are as follows:
I. By Installation Method (The most fundamental category)
1.Adhesive Cable Clip
Structure: Solid double-sided adhesive (e.g., 3M adhesive) at the bottom and semi-enclosed grooves at the top (for securing single/multiple cables).
Features: No need to drill, just fixed, easy to install, suitable for smooth surfaces (walls, tabletop, device casings).
Scene: Home wiring (network cables, power cords), office desktop organization, small wiring inside the device (e.g. router power cords).
Note: Adhesive surfaces must be clean and dry. Limited carrying capacity (usually ≤500g); not suitable for prolonged outdoor or humid conditions.
2.Screw-Mounted Cable Clip
Structure: Stud on base + groove/ groove fixed to wall, stud on ceiling or bracket.
Features: Securely fixed, high load-bearing capacity (multiple thick cables, such as RVV 2.5mm2 power cords, can be secured), suitable for long-term use.
Scene: Industrial workshop cable (motor cables), building wall/ceiling cables (e.g. surveillance cables, high voltage cable), installation of outdoor equipment.
Type Sub-types: Single hole clip (fastening single cable), porous clip (fastening multiple parallel cables), open clip (easy to add or remove cable later), closed hole clip (preventing cable from falling off, suitable for vibration environments).
3.Cable Bridge
Structure: Base (adhesive/screw fastening) + cable tie requiring nylon cable connection (connecting and securing cable to base).
Features: Soft, can adjust the binding fastness according to the number of cables, suitable for a variety of haphazard cable organization.
Scene: internal cabling (server power cable, network cable), car engine compartment cable, industrial equipment wiring harness organization.
ii. By fixed programme/ function
1.Wall/Desktop Cable Clips
Type: Mainly adhesive or shallow-slotted small screws (suitable for cable ≤ 10mm diameter, e.g. network cables and USB cable).
Scene: Install wires on the TV background wall in the family room; hide them under a office desk to prevent them from trailing to the floor, gathering dust or being trampled.
2.Floor Cable Protector Clips
Structure: Has a non-slip base, some with lids (to prevent breakage); mainly abrasionresistant PVC or rubber.
Features: Wearable and pressurised, protecting cables from being run over by pedestrians or trolleys, while also preventing tripping hazards.
Scene: Temporary cabling in shopping malls and office corridors (e.g. temporary network cabling for exhibitions), fixed cabling in workshop floor.
3.Pipe/Cable Tray Clip
Structure: Arc slots (for outside diameter of pipe) or hook design that can be clipped to the edge of a pipe or cable trays.
Features: Pipeline/cable trays does not require to be drilled, flexible installation, suitable for cable fixation of pipeline/ cable trays.
Scene: Fix the heat-trailing cable to one side of HVAC ducts and attach branch cables to cable trays.
4.Anti-Vibration Cable Clip
Structure: The groove has a rubber pad and the base has a cushioning structure (e.g. spring or rubber ring). Material is mainly metal + rubber.
Features: Reduce vibration tension between equipment and cable, prevent cable joints from loosening or insulation wear.
Scene: wires that hold vibration equipment in place, such as engines and water pumps, and engine compartment cables for automobiles and ships.
III. By Material
Material | Characteristics | Applicable Scenario
Plastics (PVC/Nylon) | Low cost, lightweight, corrosion resistance, good insulation | Good internal wiring, no hot home/office environment
Metallic (Steel/Aluminum Alloy) | High load, high temperature resistance (ability to withstand temperatures above 200°C), shock resistance | Industrial plant, outdoor high temperature environment (e.g. near boiler), high voltage cables
Rubber | Nonslip, shock absorbent, abrasionresistant, flexible | Ground cable protection, cable fixation near vibration equipment
Core logic of cable clamp selection: First, consider installation scenario (wall/floor/vibrating environment) → Determine installation method (adhesive/screw/cable tie) → Match cable number and diameter. For example, choose adhesive single-hole fixtures for home desktop structures, cable cable tie for cabinet cabling and metal + rubber shock absorbers near industrial vibration equipment.
